Through playing in Arena games, players gain Arena points every week, based on the performance of their team, which can later be used into purchasing powerful guns and armor. Teams must complete at least 10 matches to be eligible for points within one week. Additionally, an individual player needing to be involved in at minimum 30% of the games that week to earn points. The most successful .5 percentage of players also will earn a Swift Nether Drake Mount, that will be only available in the first Arena season.

Arena mode was first introduced in World of Warcraft with the original Burning Crusade expansion in 2007 and has since been an integral aspect of the game since then. As the games evolved, in later releases, players could also participate on Rated Battlegrounds in addition to Arena to earn the most powerful PvP gear.
The way that Burning Crusade Classic's Arena system works differs from how it was back in 2007.
